PRODUCTION CONTROLLER
(with design skills / experience)

The Osprey Group is going through a stage of growth and is looking to add to our current number of 50 employees throughout our Oxford, Nottingham and New York offices.
It’s an exciting time, as we prepare to implement a brand new XML workflow. We are pleased to be looking for an enthusiastic Production Controller to join our thriving department at our Oxford, UK office. This is a one-year contract with the potential to become permanent.
This is a unique role in which you will project-manage your own series of books from draft text to binding and shipping. You will work closely with in-house editorial staff and external suppliers to get the books printed on time and on budget. This role involves extensive design aspects, as you will correct layouts, design covers and retouch images. Therefore, you must have solid experience using InDesign or QuarkXpress and Photoshop.
You will need to be organised and unflappable – the ability to juggle a wide range of tasks and deadlines is essential! You will have an excellent eye for detail and a good understanding of print production, with at least one year of experience working within a production department.

ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
(Part time, c.21 hours per week, for c.6-8 weeks)
The Shire/Old House Sales & Marketing team are looking for a part-time temporary Administration Assistant to start as soon as possible.
Initially they will be required for 3 days per week, but working hours will be very flexible and can be adapted to the needs of the successful candidate.
Applicants should have LOTS of common sense, good administrative skills and be able to learn quickly on the job. They also need a good telephone manner as they will be talking to sales reps, customers and bookshops to sort out orders and to help follow up sales leads.
The applicant will also need email and database skills (although training will be given in using our database system). Previous office experience would be really useful and previous experience of working in sales and/or marketing and/or publishing would be a definite advantage.
