New Games Developer Sought in Oxford
Osprey Publishing, the leading military history and wargaming publisher, is looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of Games Developer.
The successful applicant will be responsible for editing and project-managing Osprey Games’ board and card games and shaping and developing those lines according to the company’s strategic aims. They will manage and grow a pool of contributors and liaise with publishing partners and associates on specific projects. As the primary point of contact for the board and card game projects, the successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining a presence on relevant forums, blogs and discussion boards and increasing Osprey Games’ visibility in the board and card game markets.
Familiarity with the board and card gaming industry and the ability to understand the passion of the enthusiast is vital. Editorial experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. The successful applicant will work as part of a lively team, with additional responsibility and career progression available for any candidate who demonstrates the ability and desire to handle it.

Editorial Assistant Vacancy
Osprey Publishing, a leading international military history publisher, is looking to recruit a new Editorial Assistant at our head office in Oxford. Reporting to the Commissioning Editor, this role involves supporting the team of editors with day-to-day tasks across a range of military titles, as well as ensuring the smooth running of the department.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the general administration for the department
- Arranging, and keeping records of, company-wide fortnightly publishing meetings
- Database management
- Working with our content management system (CMS) to make corrections
- Some project management support for editors, including the high-profile General trade list.
The role requires:
- Great organisational skills
- Time management and ability to prioritise
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Eye for detail
- Professionalism and a positive approach.
We are looking for a highly efficient, motivated self-starter, with a desire to gain a thorough introduction to trade publishing. Playing a vital and hands-on role in supporting our busy department, this is a great opportunity for a keen graduate who wants to take their first steps in publishing. While a background in history is not essential, the successful candidate would benefit from an interest in the subject.
