Terry Douglas Hooker
Born in 1952, Terry left school with no qualifications, and after a year in the tailoring trade, joined the staff of Tradition, It was there that his interest in military history really took off, working in the retail shop, in the factory casting lead alloy figures, and later supervising the making of customer figure orders, painted and unpainted. It was there he began his specialist study of Latin American Military History.
Terry is the author of numerous articles for Tradtition magazine and Military Modelling, as well as the Osprey Men-at-Arms books on the armies of Bolivar and San Martin with Ron Poulter and Armies of the Paraguayan War for Foundry Books. In 1988, he created the society of the South and Central American Military Historians, including the publication of the journal El Dorado. He became a member of the Company of Military Historians in Washington DC, and was made a fellow for his work on Latin America. Terry created INTEL four years ago as a method to showcase photographs and illustrations that would be of interest to all fans and students of military history.
