J Alexander
Colonel Joseph H Alexander served 28 years as an assault amphibian officer in the US Marine Corps, including two combat tours in the Republic of Vietnam and more than five years at sea. As a colonel, he served as Chief of Staff, 3d Marine Division, in the western Pacific. As a military historian subsequent to his retirement, Col. Alexander has written five books and six monographs, and he has helped produce 28 documentaries for The History Channel, the Arts and Entertainment Network and Fox News. He is chief historian of the exhibit design team for the National Musem of the Marine Corps and makes his home in the mountains of western North Carolina.
