Do believe you've forgotten the work of John Ringo's Legacy of the Aledanata series. Highly recommended

Greetings Joe!

Just want to thank you for a good article on 'military science fiction'. It will be useful. Didn't realize that there was this whole sub-genre to 'general' science fiction.

Ender's Game also had a sequel "Xenocide", which isn't military science-fiction, but it another amazing novel.

Another book I enjoyed reading was The Bug Wars by Robert Asprin. In it the Tzen, a race of highly evolved lizards, clash with a formidable coalition of insect tribes. Told from the point of view of one of the warrior Tzen, it does a good job of dealing with two non-human cultures at war.
