Our first book on a Space Ship?
April 1, 2010 12:00 AM
Okay, it isn’t really our first book on a space ship. We covered the Space Shuttle Launch systems way back in New Vanguard 99, but this is something completely different. That’s right, Osprey is entering the realm of science-fiction.
Coming in late 2011, our new series, Astra Bellum. Originally, we weren’t going to announce the series until early next year, but the information leaked, and earlier this month a sample shot of the first cover appeared in Miniature Wargames.
While we eventually rooted out the leak and banished the culprit (how’s Africa, Mike?), the damage had been done.
So we hope you are as excited as us, as Osprey boldly goes where it has never gone before!!!!

This is very exciting news, Joe. I've long been an admirer of April's work, both as an illustrator and a chain-saw juggler.

Here's an idea for two Command titles: Kirk and Picard. Then we can get some solid analysis and comparison and finally decide once and for all which one is the better Captain!

It's a shame this is a wind up, as as I am a big sc fi geek, I mean fan, I would be interested in this :-)
and what about a Duel title: Enterprise vs Borg Cube

If this is a joke, it's a cruel one.
I mean, if they do zombies, they should do starships! And I really, really want that book!

Am I the only one who actually likes this idea? I'd love to see a Star Destroyer-themed volume... oh, well! Great April 1st joke! :)
