The French battleship Richelieu escorted into New York harbor by a fleet of tugs. Date Unknown.
COMMENTS
The picture shows Richelieu arriving for her refit in May 1943. Don't know the exact date off hand, but should be possible to track it down.
The clearest tell is the missing gun in the top turret. The turret was damaged at Dakar, and the ship sent to the Brooklyn Navy Yard for repairs on April 30, 1943. As I recall, the upper turret was damaged when a shell misfired in the turret.
