A few of the members of the Osprey team are a little hoarse this morning, what with all that shouting at television screens in pubs and living rooms across Oxfordshire. Others were desperately trying to dig out some information on the cheapest flights to Brazil, scouting in advance for hotels, suitable beaches and how to get tickets for a few football matches (translation time for our American cousins - I am talking about soccer!).
England have qualified for Brazil 2014. How does that relate to Osprey? The connection is somewhat tenuous I will grant you. That is... unless you count the appearance of Pele in the perennial war film Christmas favourite - Escape to Victory. Come on - I mean that Pele overhead kick... in super slow motion? Unbeatable.
So that might be the sole justification for posting this. But to mitigate this, we do have a special offer on one of our books for you in celebration. For the next day you can get 30% off the Men-at-Arms 465 Brazilian Expeditionary Force in World War II ebook and 45% off the physical book.
Which hopefully will let you all forgive me for posting up a sports post... If you would like a good dose of military history blogging, I would recommend this blog by William Shepherd...
