At the minute I am tentatively dipping a toe into the property market. In theory buying your first home should be exciting. Unfortunately it is mundane, involves a great deal of donkey work and sitting in front of a computer screen for hours on end. But, every now and then a web search brings up something unexpected in the property market.
If you have $1.5 million (£750,000) in spare change you could invest it in a bit of property – perhaps an old Cold War missile base – complete with silos and underground tunnels! And this isn’t the only site available – there are dozens more here.
And, if you are interested in something a bit more retro you could buy a castle. Or, just in time for Halloween, you could snap up Bran Castle for a few million, and live in the same rooms as Vlad the Impaler who is better known as Count Dracula!
