We have indeed some notable gaps in this great series. Here are the top 5 which I can think of right now:
1. Sino-Japanese War 1894-95
2. Sino-Japanese Conflict 1937-45
3. Austro-Prussian war 1866
4. The Wars of Frederick the Great (I think this is partly covered in other volumes iirc, but a separate volume would be great)
5. The Russian-Turkish Wars (16 to 20 centuries)
1. Three Kingdoms China (184-280AD China)
2. Boshin War (1868-69 Japan)
3. Gempei War (1180-1185 Japan)
4. First Indochina war ( 1946-1954 Vietnam)
5. Congo Crisis (1960-66 Congo)
I admit that the first 3 are definitely personal favourites, so there's a bit of bias, but I still think they'd make worthy titles!

Well, I'll just throw in three ideas for others to think about:
1. The Allies War with Vichy France 1940-42;
2. Finnish Autonomy, Sovereignty and Civil War 1917-18; and
3. The Greek Civil War 1946-49.

Hello:
My suggestions:
1-British Invasions of River Plate 1806-07
A failed british attemp of conquest of the River Plate basin, but inflicted a severe blow to the Spanish colonnial autority.
2-Latin American Independence Wars 1810-30
In several tittles covering since the "Juntas" created when Fernando VII became prisioner of Napoleon until the victory of Ayacucho in 1824 and the Cisplatine war of 1825-28.
3-Triple Alliance War 1865-70
The bloody war of Triple Alliance of Brazil, Argentine and Uruguay against Paraguay (that lost 60% of their population)
4-The Guerra Grande 1839-52
A conflict that started as civil war in Uruguay but soon became intermingled the factions struggling for the power in Argentine and even involved a Anglo-French Blockade against Buenos Aires and the participation of Garibaldi.
5- Chaco War 1932-35
Fought between Bolivia and Paraguay over control of the region of Chaco Boreal, which was incorrectly thought to be rich in oil, was the bloodiest military conflict fought in South America during the 20th century.

Hi, I've already suggested five, however, no-one's mentioned the Italian Wars 1494-1559, which is for me the single most important addition needed to Essential Histories. Is this because it's already been in the early stages of production for 2013/14?
