The New Vanguard Discount - Naval titles take to the high seas

The 20% off discount on all of our New Vanguard titles ends at midnight on the 31st January. We have been looking at what New Vanguards have sold over the three weeks and there is a rather interesting, surprising trend to what you
are all buying - gone are the days of big tanks dominating the New
Vanguard sales charts, not a Tiger, Panther or Sherman in sight -
instead the list of New Vanguards that have sold well over the last 3
weeks is dominated by Naval New Vanguards.
Of the twenty-five top selling titles, sixteen are naval / maritime
based title. Now this shouldn't really come as that much of a surprise,
in the past naval titles have done really well in the New Vanguard
series. NVG 109 Imperial Japanese Navy Aircraft Carriers 1921-45 was the runaway success of 2005, taking us all by surprise and selling out its first print run in the month it was released. It has gone on to be reprinted seven times and is now one of the most popular New Vanguard titles of all time.
But despite this, 16 of the top 25 selling books is a surprising result for maritime New Vanguards. I have listed the naval titles in a list below, with their position in the top 25 selling books this month in brackets after the title.
So, what is going on? Have all the armour modellers suddenly turned their attention to modelling naval subjects? Is it just that it is harder to find books on naval subjects than it is to find books on tanks? And seeing as you want to see more and more naval titles in the New Vanguard range, what other naval New Vanguards do you want us to do?
Luckily, in 2009 we have another 7 naval New Vanguards on the way - including titles on British Battleships in World War II, Ships of the American Revolutionary Navy and Landing craft!

I don't think that has been a loss of interest in armor (note how I spelled that word correctly :) ). I think that what you are seeing is that the recent releases have been more oriented towards subjects other than armor, and I assume that recent releases sell better than older releases.
On the subject of older releases, NVG2 on the subject of the M1 Abrams tank is quite obsolete and needs a refresh. I am certain that a refresh would sell well.

I have just developed an interest in post WW II tanks, and was going to order several but I find them out of print. I hope that you can reprint these books some time. I would also like to have books on some of the other british WWII tanks, valentine etc. Maybe you can print books on these subjects sometime.

To make everyone happy why not publish books for the "Barnacle Brigade" on say British Destroyers of WWI and /or WWII, American "4 stack" Destroyers, and Military Hovercraft and then brighten the "treadheads" day with French tanks such as Char B series or H35 light tank or the Russian T26 or BT series - It's a win win for everyone!!
(We'll sort something out for the "prop buffs" later!)
