The PBS series "Secrets of the Dead" had an excellent episode years ago about Isandlwana where several mysteries and myths about it are resolved. I recall them describing the herbal mixture the Zulus took before the battle that made them fearless enough to charge an oncoming train. The eclipse and the limitations of the Martini-Henry rifle was also covered. Its available on DVD and I highly recommend it.

Ian was involved with that show, a fact I found out when I was complaining about it to him at Historicon a couple of years back. I was moaning that the show spent more time talking about the drugs and testing them on the presenter as it was good TV rather than the ammunition boxes which were far more important. He was very polite in explaining the limitations of historical TV and I think we came round to the idea that at least it was being shown.
