The book vote is one of my favourite aspect of the Osprey website and its good to see books suggested by people published by Osprey.

However, is Osprey aware of the fault with the book vote? One dedicated user can keep voting the same option for a period of time and make it come up on top. I feel this has been the case for many monthly book votes.

Last months book vote would be a case in point. Modern Russian Special Forces was initially leading by a big margin, only to be surpassed by the Moari Wars by a far bigger margin; I feel it is unlikely that over a short period of time so many people would vote for a single book. There has been a lot of forums put up for books based on Tamerlane rather than Mehmed the Conqueror, Richard the Lionheart, Vlad the Impaler and El Cid, yet currently this title is not leading the book vote.

If Osprey could rectify this problem, that would be great. Also if possible, could Osprey add an option on the monthly book vote to say if we want all 4 suggestions to be published? Whenever the book vote appears I tend to like all 4 titles!!

Lastly it would be interesting to see the voting patterns of people from different regions, as this may affect their vote. I personally enjoy military history from all over the whole across different time periods.

I would love to hear the thoughts of others and Osprey’s?

"- Napoleonic Cavalry Tactics (Book vote August 10) Napoleonic Heavy Cavalry Tactics in the Elite series coming in 2012

- Australian Army of WW1 (Book vote September 10) Men-at-Arms 478 Australian Army in WW1 coming in 2012

- Swiss Napoleonic Troops (Book vote September 10) Men-at-Arms 476 Napoloeon's Swiss Army Troops - coming in 2012"

aaaaah, tears of joy in my eyes! and the two Napoleonic titles are even being published in 2012, just in time for the bicentennial of the Russian campaign! also nice to see MaA 462, my favourite Osprey book of 2010, as well as MaA 475, which is already pre-ordered!

Never fear crimean - we can actually tell when a vote is being rigged by a handful of individuals - it is not practical to get this changed for the front of the website (what can be seen by you guys) but the inner workings will flag up suspicious activity for us. In fact - in one of our votes last year it appeared as if in the space of 24 hours one user voted for a specific subject over 200 times.

In the case of the Maori wars though - all appears accurate, with normal levels of repeat voting. Sadly my multiple votes for Mod Russian Special Forces could not save the day either!

From a purely practical point of view, a 'vote for all four' button would actually probably weaken the ability to turn book votes into a strong negotiating tool for getting books published - but whenever there has been a close run race we do tend to try and bring that book back into another book vote a few months down the line.

Having said that, do keep voting - when we have our six monthly 'Hitlist Meetings' all of the info and data from the book vote is hugely useful.

I figured the book vote was something of an honor system. I'm especially looking forward to the Balkan Wars and Chaco War. I hadn't heard of the Chaco War until people started requesting it on the Osprey website.
Any chance there might be a Campaign on Scott's Mexico City Campaign?

Glad to see "tunnel rats" "Australian army in WWI" and "Italian naval elite forces". I'm very surprised to see a two book series on italian tanks. I never thought they deserves so much space. Anyway I hope that, if the lot of upcoming italian subjects will sell well, Osprey will take into consideration a book on Carabineri. By the way I'll keep suggesting titles.

P.S: in the list I see no CAM/RAID series books. Hope you cover the gap soon!

Big thanx for Balkan Wars. Finally to see Serbs, Greeks and Turks in action;) Would be nice if one day Battle of Ankara get its campaign title.
