Battle of La Biccoca, 1521
Powermonger
Hi to All!
I was looking for a good book that details the battle of La Biccoca. Unfortunately, Osprey still did not plan to release a campaign book of it.
So, any hint of which book should i read about it?
Thanks a lot!!!

Hi Powermonger,
the best resource that you can find (in english) about La Bicocca are: A History of the Art of War in the Sixteenth Century (Greenhill Military) by Charles Oman (out of print and very expensive on Amazon), The Art Of War In Italy, 1494-1529 (Scholar's Bookshelf 2006) by F.L. Taylor, Il Rinascimento e la crisi militari italiana by Pieri (??? 1950 I think... well, You must learn italian before) and the Hans Delbruck's book (probably the title is "The Dawn of Modern Warfare") about the Reinassence (I never read it but Delbruck's work are well know and a reprint of the english version is not difficult to find).
Probably the best is the Oman's one, and it can be consider the best english book about the Reinassence battles ever published; a cheap alternative could be the Taylor's work.

Thanks a lot!
I borrowed Oman's book from the Army Military History School. It's superb!
Thanks again!

Hi Powermonger; I’m glad to have help you. I can suggest even a more modern book: The Art of Renaissance Warfare: From the Fall of Constantinople to the Thirty Years War) by Stephen Turnbull. Anyway the Oman’s book is the best. Unfortunately the bibliography about the warfare on the 16th century (one of the most interesting period in my opinion) is quite limited.
