Civil War navy

Ironside

Whilst there are a few books to be found on the British Navy during the Civil Wars, there is a distinct lack of basic information on the ships, organisation of the crews, officers and so on - such as you get in abundance with the 18th century navy.

Anyone know of anywhere where I might get such information - or is there even a chance Osprey might fill the gap (hint hint)?

Hi, we do have a book in our Battle Orders series which covers the British Navy from 1793 - 1815. This might be able to fill in a few gaps for you. I will add your thoughts to our suggested titles list for future consideration.

Thanks! It seems to be a critical period in the history of the Navy, which saw the fleet modernised into the instrument which gave Britain maritime supremacy until the end of the First World War - but it tends to be overshadowed by the events on land.

Any type of "metal flip top" lighter will do. I am looking for them at
the right price to sell in my dollar store.
