Armies of the Qing Dynasty

Sarissa

Qing China was to the 18th century what Mughal India had been to the 17th - the largest, richest and most populous empire in the world for that time. Under its Manchu rulers it experienced a golden age of culture, economic growth and military expansion. It would be great to see a title on the Qing armies at their zenith when under the rule of the Emperors Kangxi (1662-1722), Yongzheng (1723-1735) and Qianlong (1735-1796).

I enjoyed the book on the Imperial Chinese Armies, which also had some wonderful colour plates. Perhaps Osprey could do a warrior book on Manchu Bannerman and some campaign books on their conquests.

Where is our volume on Chinese Armies 1840-1911? All the others have been printed. For some reason we still have this gap.
