Irish Rebellion 1798

any chance we'll see a title about the rebellion. moore, craufurd and abercromby were there. what irish regiments fought, scottish fencibles and english regular troops were involved. could be a very comprehensive book.

Good I was hoping someone would post up this idea. The United Irishmen Rebellion led by Wolfe Tone is a war that needs covering, this was the first real nationalist uprising in Ireland and it led to future conflicts which ultimately led to the Troubles from 1968 to 1998.

Hi,
I suppose it's not giving too much away, but have already been in discussion with my editor at Osprey for some time regarding 1798 and a formal proposal will be submitted shortly. Obviously it would still need to be commissioned, but that'll be up to the powers that be.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed !
BTW 1798 was not only the second attempt at a landing, but the man originally earmarked for the command of the French forces wasn't Humbert, but rather the commander of the Army of England, a certain Napoleone Buonaparte (as he spelt his name then).
All the best,
Mike.
