Asian Armies by Ian Heath

Illuminato

Recently I noticed the author profile of Ian Heath on this site and I found this phrase: "He is also currently working on a five-volume project covering the armies of 19th-century Asia".

I'd like to know more about the contents of these books.

Those titles are published by Wargames Foundry (http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/books/index.asp), and cover:

Armies of the Nineteenth Century. The Armies of Asia: INDIA'S NORTH-EAST FRONTIER
Armies of the Nineteenth Century. The Armies of Asia: CHINA
Armies of the Nineteenth Century. The Armies of Asia: CENTRAL ASIA AND THE HIMALAYAN KINGDOMS
Armies of the Nineteenth Century. The Armies of Asia: BURMA AND INDO-CHINA

With, presumably, one volume to come.

Highly recommended!

I don't know if it was ever an option. Our authors (and artists) do not work exclusively for us, and frequently work for other publishers. The author profiles represent this fact, and often refer to notable works penned by our authors irrespective of the publishing house. In this case, Ian put together some fantastic books for Wargames Foundry, and this is recognized in his profile.

I hope some point in the future Osprey has plans to cover these exotic armies. Having looked through some previews of the above-mentioned books online, they look impressive but lack some quality colour plates. They seem to have illustrations (good ones though), but without colour.
