Pea Ridge

unknownpleasures

I don't believe there are any titles on the Trans Miss. Theater. Peag Ridge and Wilson's Creek would be two good ones.

Pea Ridge was a rather, though not well know, importen battle in the east. It cost the Confderacy contrule of parts of Alabama (I belive that was the state, I can't rember of the top of my head). I have always wanted to see this battle as a campaighn. It is also interesting becues Indian allies were used also.

There are a couple of books that somewhat cover the Trans-Mississippi theater: The Civil War in the Indian Territory, and American Civil War Guerrilla Tactics, but I agree, there should be more coverage of this theater, and not just from Osprey, but Civil War scholars as a whole! Being from Missouri, and born on August 10, the day Wilson's Creek was fought, I may be a bit biased, or perhaps I'm just one of those types drawn to "minor fronts" and "sideshows." By the way, Pea Ridge, AKA Elkhorn Tavern, is in Arkansas.

Sure thing. Speaking of Arkansas battles, Prairie Grove was another big one.
