Missing Colour Plate in Vanished Armies

Colin Chapman

I thought I'd give folks a heads-up on a blunder in Vanished Armies. Plate 15 in the book is a duplicate image of Plate 14 (despite being labelled correctly numerically). This is made all the more obvious because the two duplicate colour plates are on facing pages.

The fact that Plate 15 is completely missing mars an otherwise beautiful book. I have contacted Shire to let them know about the problem and have politely asked that they make the missing plate available as a download for customers in light of the issue. I haven't had a response of any kind so thought it best to at least notify fellow customers of the problem prior to purchase. Perhaps if enough people notify Shire of the mistake and request a download of the missing plate, they will be forthcoming.

Thank you for your notel regarding the repeated plate in Vanished Armies. This was a last minute production error that we noticed only after the books had been printed and sent out to our customers, and we are extremely sorry for the disappointment that this has caused. We hope, though, that this error will not detract too much from what is an extraordinary collection of artworks.

You can use this link (http://www.ospreypublishing.com/articles/vanished_armies_missing_plate/) to find a full-resolution pdf of the missing plate – the page can be printed from here. Should you not have access to a high quality colour printer we will be happy to supply a print of the missing page, which can be slipped into the book.

With renewed apologies and best wishes.

Thank you for the response and download, Joe. As I noted, it is a beautiful book, no question there.
