Russian Steppe Enemies

crimean

As there seems to be an interest in the Russian military, I thought I would suggest an idea. Osprey has covered the Russian armies from various periods, but not so much on the threats that they faced. There have been books covering the Swedes and Poles but not so much on the Eastern/Steppe peoples that they faced. People like the Khazars, Pechengs; Volga Bulgars were a constant threat to early Russian Medieval states. Later Mongol and Khanate States such as the Crimean were a threat up to the 18th century. The Crimean Tatars played an active role in the Ottoman Armies and were included in the Russian along with the Polish-Lithuanian armies. I hope Osprey has some plans to cover these armies some time in the future.

all of those have been covered already (even before medieval russia herself!), except for the Golden Horde and sucessor Khanates.

I realise some of them may have been covered, but perhaps they could have books solely based on them or not combine too many steppe armies into 1 book. Still it would be great to see books on the Mongol Successor states on the Russian steppes.

I would like to see a book on each of the subjects, not just one covering a little of everything.
