Crimean,
I am also intertested in medieval/crusader related titles (I have all the titles already published by Osprey on this). If Osprey would publish any of these eventually, I'll certainly buy them. What would you think about a book on the medieval maritime powers: Venice, Genoa, Pisa and their role in moving all crusader armies from and to the holy land? I could imagine Ayn Jalut also as a DUEL title: Mongols vs Mamluks!

As the crusading era is perhaps my favorite period of history, I'd second all of those suggestions. I'd most heartily support the campaign title on Ayn Jalut and warrior title on the Mamluk Cavalrymen. Manzikert and the 4th Crusade also deserve coverage. I'd also like to suggest another campaign title: La Forbie/Harbiyah 1244. It looks like Dr. Nicolle, being the crusading period expert, will have his work cut out for him, hehe :).

As far as Kazan 1552 is concerned, I would add another Warrior: Russian Streltsi 16th-18th century (only "professional" segment of the Russian armies at the period).

Its great to know that there are other Medieval fans out there, I hope Osprey continue to produce more Medieval related books and not just WW2 books! Medieval maritime powers like Venice, Genoa, Pisa would be good, although I am not sure how much the Venetian Empire book covers these armies? Sadly Osprey Duels books only seem to concentrate on tanks and planes. David Nicolle would be the perfect author to cover these topics.

I agree with the suggestions. How about also the Fourth Crusade or the Albigensian Crusades against the Cathars? Those subjects are quite neglected.

I agree completely. The Latin presence in the Aegean is a somewhat neglected topic. Other suggestions could be the Battle of Adrianople (1205), the Smyrna Crusade (1344), or the sack of Alexandria by Peter I of Cyprus (1365)?

Osprey simply has to produce a Campaign or Essential Histories book on Tamerlane! He was on a par with Ghengis Khan, and levelled entire cities. I recommend Justin Camozzi's excellent book on the man, or even better a visit to Samarkand, Bukhara and Shakrisabz in Uzbekistan.

Thanks for all the suggestions! CAM 237: The Fourth Crusade 1202-04 will be out in August 2011. I would encourage you to input any title suggestions on the "Books I'd Like To Read" section of the homepage - our editorial team does take all of the suggestions there to heart as they seek new titles.

Thanks for the reply. I look forward to CAM 237, I’m glad Osprey is not ignoring the medieval period. I’ll be sure to add my suggestions to the “Books I’d like to read”.
