id love to see an Elite title on uniforms of the 20th centuries great dictators. Everyone from Stalin to Hitler to Gadaffi, Pinochet and Kim il Jung would make for some great illustrations. Lets face it, they all think they are snappy dressers!

I really like this idea. I don't know if a single volume of Elite could cover all the crazy dictator uniforms over the past 100 years though. I seem to remember every tinpot leader from Africa, Asia, Central America and South America having an uniform. Of course, there were plenty of Europeans during and prior to WWII. I love the idea, but I think it might need to several volumes or at least a single General Military book. Along this the lines would be a volume on military juntas of Latin America. Maybe there is a new series here--Dress Uniforms! Just kidding about the new series.

The idea is great, but as far as the plates are concerned, some dictators are more equal than other dictators... Hitler wore usually a simple NSDAP party uniform with a WW1 Iron Cross and an NSDAP gold badge, but some other guys had many uniforms for different occasions. Remember that in the Elite book "Panama 1989-1990", one plate showed a selection of various uniforms of Manuel Noriega.

This is a great idea, I’ve never considered this but I think it would make a fascinating Osprey book, with some fantastic colour plates.
