While the Provisional IRA can reasonably be considered combatants in a war (however controversial that might be), I'm not sure that organized crime groups really can as, with a few exceptions, these fall under the jurisdiction of the civil, rather than the military establishment and so are a bit beyond our sphere. That said, never say never! As far as LAPD and NYPD etc. are concerned, it's a bit more possible – though not planned at present – as we do already have books on the Texas Rangers and Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Was it intended to be a joke? If so, then I'm gonna add Motorcycles of the Biker Gangs (New Vanguard) and my auld proposal, Carpathian Bandits 1650-1850.

Actually there are some really good ideas there.......Since Osprey has previously done titles on police forces such as the RCMP & Texas Rangers MAA/Elite books on the NYPD/LAPD SWAT/Emergency Services would be very welcome. (longtime Osprey author/illustrator Bryan Fosten did a set of NYPD uniform postcards back in the 90's) Street/Biker gangs & the Mafia don't really fall under the scope of 48-64 page booklets (especially with the page wasters like Content & Index pages) for study. I'm sure the London Police would make for a great Elite title.

Though not "military" in nature what about a title on Firefighters & their equipment?

some of these organisations could be said to be paramilitary, so why not? if the above police forces were covered, their adversaries could be covered in the same book.
