Thank you for your query. Unfortunately we do not yet have a reprint date for 'Russia's War in Afghanistan' but 'Soviet Bloc Elite Forces' should be available in November.

Hello again, conveniently enough 'Russia's War in Afghanistan' has just landed on my desk as part of a reprint batch - I don't know a firm date that this book will be available but I would guess at early next year, if not sooner. Keep an eye on the forum as I know my colleagues post 'books back in stock' updates.

The maa book Russia’s War in Afghanistan covers the conflict only up to 1986, 3 years before the Soviets pulled out of Afghanistan. Does Osprey have any plans to cover the whole conflict or cover the civil war that followed the Soviet departure? I’m glad this book is being re-printed as it has some wonderful colour plates.

Just an update on these titles - 'Russia's War in Afghanistan' has caused some discussion here at Osprey HQ and we have decided that, instead of reprinting it as it is, to look into revising this book or covering the topic from a more up-to-date standpoint, given that a lot has happened since this title was first printed in 1986. As a result, the book will not be reprinted in its current form. Apologies to anyone who may be disappointed, but we are confident that the resulting book will be an exciting one.

Good call Osprey. I’m fortunate enough to have the original book, but I hope the revised book has the same quality of colour plates and covers the Afghan civil war.

This is fantastic news! Will the new title cover just the Soviet involvement up to 1989, or will it go further to cover the civil war and the rise of the Taliban?
