counterinsurgency

I think a good addiction to tactics mini series would be a number of titles dedicated to cunterinsurgency tactics after WWII. It woluld be plenty of arguments, expecially if titles are divided by country and/or era, i.e. the Malaya emergency, Indonesia confrontation, Algeria (always a subject I liked), Vietnam, Rhodesia, ecc.

Excellent idea. I think it would be a great addition and would complement the Vietnam Airmobile Warfare tactics book.
It's interesting to note that alot of the tactics we used in Vietnam were copied from the Portuguese in Angola and Mozambique.

We have also to consider that the frenchmen pioneered the helicopter tactics during the algerian war and the rhodesian forces created the fireforce concept. Again, counterinsurgency tactics in Algeria have been largely debated in recent years confronting them with the american ones used in iraq/afghanistan.
