Campaign: Manchuria 1931-1932
Seth
Hello, new user here but a long time fan of Osprey. I've been thinking, I'd love to see a book in the Campaign series about the Japanese invasion of Manchuria in 1931. There is virtually nothing in detail about the Manchurian incident in English, which is a shame. Since it is generally viewed as the beginning of Japan's march to World War II, it is too often skimmed over in English books with only a few sentences.
What are your thoughts?

Seth: Agreed. I think the Manchurian campaign merits a campaign booklet

Oh I agree. Just recently I wrote a research paper on Manchukuo, and if I looked hard enough I could find plenty of information on the "state" itself but failed to get any good military details from the conquest and consolidation of Manchuria. I too would love to see a Campaign book on this.

Thanks for your responses guys. I hope Osprey is interested in the idea. I think the book would sell well, since it would be virtually the only in-print English book that deals with the Manchurian invasion in detail. They'd have the market cornered!
Any other thoughts?

Very good idea! I would definitely by the book. I think there should be a campaign or essential histories book about the sino-japanese war 1894-1895 too.

I agree there should be a book based on the Manchurian campaign along with the Sino- Japanese War of 1894-1895. Osprey has covered Chinese related warfare very well; the above mentioned wars would be excellent additions.

I would like to jump in and say that I would buy books on these conflicts as well. Great suggestions.
