Spanish guerrillas of the Peninsular war- a quick comment
xavierb
Dear Osprey editors:
I have the booklet:Spanish guerrillas of the Peninsular war and the authour has overlooked, I think, an important contribution to the guerrila warfare: the sotmetent.
This was a Catalan military institution where the men would organize themselves as a local armed unit and would fight in an irregular fashion.
The Catalan military historians mention that this was a precursor to the guerrillas of the Peninsular warm (or the war of the French as it's called in Spain)
In fact there were some radio programs form the historical program En guàrdia from Radio Catalunya (available from the archives as MP 3 downloads) which discuss this topic under the title Guerra del francès.
In any case, if there's ever a reprint would it be possible to address the sotmetent in the development of guerilla warfare?
Thanks!
xavier
