Napoleonic FORUM

Reprinted Editions vs. Original Edition

jg1234

Hi,

I am new to the forum. I have several Napoleonic Campaign titles.

I just bought "Leipzig - 1813". I have the original version from 1993.

Can someone tell me what is different in the reprinted versions? Do they contain new / different 3 - dimensional "bird's-eye view" maps - those are what I am generally most interested in as I use them to create maps for one of my PC games.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You. - jg1234

Hi JG, thank you for your comment and welcome to the Osprey forum!

You may have noticed that we are currently working very hard to bring as many of our titles into print as possible. When we reprint books, they essentially stay the same, although if the book has an older design we tend to update the cover and title page, and add an index if one was not originally included in the book. Where possible, we also make any corrections within reason. Very occasionally we produce a new edition of a book, for example we have recently approved a reworking of CAM 30 ‘Midway 1942’, which will take advantage of new research on the topic. The new book will hopefully be published next autumn. However, if you are ever unsure whether you are buying the same book again, please check the inside of the book to be sure you do not double up your collection – unless you want to enhance your bookshelves with the new-look versions, of course!

I hope this helps!
