U.S. Navy Yangtze River Gunboats
roostercogburn
I think there should be a volume on the gunbaots utilized by the U.S. Navy to Patrol the Yangtze River in China prior to the outbreak of World War 2. It would provide an interesting insite to a little known area of the U.S. navy.

A variation on this theme would the "gun-boat" U.S. Navy. You could cover the U.S. involvement in the Caribbean as well as China.

Hey there were British Gunboats in China too and even the Italians were there.A book on all the European/Uanese Naval Activity in Pre war China would be good companion to upcoming "US Army in China" book.

Thank you all for your suggestions for books that look into the history of gunboats and the action they have seen – I will put the idea forward to our editors as a general suggestion, highlighting the different avenues that this topic can take. Kuvaszsleer, please let us know if you are still having problems with posting comments. Thanks!

The idea for a vol.or 2 on the the various gunboats from all the power 's is wonderful, and ,dont forget the Chinese Navy had quite a number ,as did the japanese pupet states. Before WW I you would have to include all the usual suspects and the above as well as the German and Austria -Hungrian vessels.Maybe 3 or 4 books would be needed
