medieval naval battles

Can we expect a title on medieval naval battles in the channel and northsee (England, France Flanders, Holland) ? I know of only two articles in Military Modelling on this subject in the last 20 years. I think it is a neglected field.

I think your problem with getting these published may well be a lack of source material. Many of the medieval naval battles that I know of in this area have only sketchy and highly unreliable sources to back them up. The Battles of Dover and Sandwich in 1217 and La Rochelle in 1372 are good examples of this.
The Battle of Damme in 1213 would make a very good Raid title with a small English raiding party attacking and burning a French invasion fleet at anchor (and the town as well for good measure!) but I don’t think there is enough there for a Campaign.
Sluys in 1340 is probably your best bet as there’s a bit more written about it and as the opening battle of The Hundred Years War it has considerable historical significance. You might (and I emphasize might!) get away with Winchelsea in 1350 but im not sure there either, the sources are still a bit sketchy for a full Campaign book I think.

How about "Malta 1283"? It is fairly well documented, and was a pivotal moment in Mediterranean medieval history, ensuring Catalan/Aragonese supremacy for the next 200 years.
