Inshore Squadron

MarkL

I'm looking for some more information on the Royal Navy Inshore Squadron in the Med during World War Two. I've gleaned some information off of the web but I'm hoping someone on here knows of a book that might contain some more detailed information.
Thanks in advance for any information.
Mark

Thanks for the info Tigercat. I actually just received a hardcover copy of this book I found on abebooks at a not too expensive price. The paperback reprint omits the photo insert I was told. I hope someone tackles this unit in detail in book form sometime. Mark

It seems to be a gap in unit histories and one I hope someone covers soon! I've pulled some information from Buxton's book on monitors as Terror served and was sunk as a member of. Armed with Stings has been very useful as has The Royal Australian Navy in World War One (Edited by David Stevens) and The Royal Navy and the Mediterranean: November 1940-December1941, Volume 1 by David Brown. Also found this discussion on a website about its OOB (http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=167527) . So by drawing on all these sources and some more I'm getting a good picture. Still it would be nice to see an overall history of the unit.
