The French and the Russians
Fomalexieich
Some years ago the topics of German and British armies of WW1 were extended into three-volume studies. Meanwhile we've got only MAA 286 on the French Army and MAA 364 on the Russian army. Why haven't those topics been extended as well? BTW, I've got a Russian edition of "The Russian Army 1914-1918". There was plenty of errors in the text, and the translator corrected them in footnotes. I don't know if Osprey released a revised edition since then...

Hi there, thank you for your comment. The British and German titles were first written in 1975 and 1978 respectively, and it was thought that these major armies warranted further texts five or so years back. The other armies that we have covered in WWI (Ottoman, French, Italian, Russian, US and Belgian, all written in the 1990s or 2000s) are limited to one book at the moment but if, going forward, we look to expand these titles into more than one book, we will be sure to let our readers know. With regards to your Russian edition of The Russian Army in WWI, we licensed this book to a Russian publishing company, so if there are any errors in translation we will make sure the company is aware some errors seem to be present in their translation. However, if you have spotted errors that have originated from the original Osprey text, we would be pleased to hear from you – please see the ‘contact us’ section if you have anything to report.
