Biggest Fighting Force of WW2

Robert De Belder

From 1943 Soviet Union had 6 million man and woman facing the Wehrmacht. I would like to make a ply for more attention to this Great Military Force.
Some idea’s: multi volume MAA on Soviet Army as exists for US, British and German forces; Elite titles on Soviet Commanders, Soviet Air Force (uniforms and organization), Soviet Navy (uniforms and organization); Battle Orders covering Soviet Tank Forces and Motorized Rifle Divisions; New Vanguard on Soviet Tank Destroyers like SU76, Soviet AT and Field Artillery. Steven Zaloga wrote most on Soviet Army to date, I would like to know if he would be willing or has already plans to cover on of these.

I whole heartedly agree. I would especially like to see volumes on Soviet artillery, Navy (especially in land combat), and Soviet commanders.

I agree with the above suggestions, and would also be particularly interested in an Elite series volume on the Soviet "God of War", the artillery. Some first-hand accounts of those awesome artillery barrages the Soviet Army unleashed during the invasion of the Reich, from both the receiving end and the delivering end, would be most interesting.

Totally agree with you Robert. Red Army's contribution to final victory deserves a far better coverage. On top of all titles proposed above, I would like to see a book on NKVD troops (MAA or Elite series). This title was on the "book vote" section a few months ago.

Thank you all for your suggestions - there is clearly a lot of demand for more books on Soviet forces and technology of WWII, and I will pass your ideas on. Steven Zaloga is a great author, and he has lots of exciting Osprey projects in the pipeline, including a book on the staghound armored car and our first Raid title, 'Rangers Lead the Way - Pointe-du-Hoc D-Day 1944'.
