German Army titles by G Williamson
Tomcatter
Osprey team,
I have the German Seaman in Warrior series. Do you know if Mr Willamson has any plans on producing a MAA/Elite volume on Kriegsmarine Surface Fleet/Coastal unti Uniforms as he did for U boat forces?

I second the motion. I believe that an Elite title about the Kriegsmarine is long overdue. I would also like to see it include uniforms of its Naval Infantry units.
I am eagerly awaiting Mr. Williamson's German Special Forces title this coming November!

I third this as well! It would be a nice compliment to the Elite books on the US Navy in WWII and the British Royal Navy in WWII.

I think the idea of A Elite Kriegsmarine title is excellent and is totaly overdue. One suggestion I would like to put forward is ,like the US Marine Corps title, include the women members. Do not forget there was a myriad of Shore-based units as well as those serving afloat. The Kriegsmarine is really a fascinating subject.

Whilst I would be happy to produce such a title, it has to be kept in mind that many if not most of the uniforms worn by the surface fleet were identical to those worn by the U-Boat arm, so there would be considerable duplication.
I have however been compilting information on Kriegsmarine land units, which would cover things such as coastal artillery, marine infantry, schools and training units, administrative branches etc.
I did suggest this as a title some time back but have been working my way through other projects since then. I will discuss the possibility with the Osprey editors again.
