Duel was the first new series that Osprey had launched in close to a decade when the first books appeared 6 years ago, and the response was hugely enthusiastic. In fact, it was so positive that it immediately got us thinking whether there was a way of applying the Duel concept to a soldier vs soldier series. Eventually, after much wringing of hands Duel gave birth to our newest series - Combat.

But the birth of Combat does not mean that we are letting Duel off lightly. No going off into the sunset for this noble series, it still has a few years to go before we put it out to pasture, as the strength of this 2014 list shows.
