As the new Weapon series launches shortly I would also like to welcome on board the consulting editor for the series - Martin Pegler. Martin was for many years the Senior Curator of Firearms at the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds so it is fantastic to have someone with his expertise involved with the series. Martin will be reviewing all proposals as well as advising on potential subjects that we can cover. Martin enjoys shooting and collecting historic firearms so I didn\'t think he would mind me including this photo of him firing a Tommy Gun at the range!

Martin currently works as a firearms consultant and regularly lectures throughout the UK while also keeping himself busy running The Somme Historical Centre situated on the old German frontline in northern France. Osprey readers may also already be familiar with some of his previous publications including Elite 68 The Military Sniper since 1914 as well as our two bestselling major histories on the sniper in military history: Out of Nowhere: A history of the military sniper and Sniper: A history of the US Marksman. Of course, these three books are perfect companion titles to our new Weapon title on sniper rifles WPN 6 Sniper Rifles: From the 19th to the 21st Century which publishes this November and is one of our launch titles.
