Last weekend Osprey Games returned to Salute, one of Europe's largest wargaming conventions, for the 50th year it's been running. It was an action-packed show for everyone who attended, celebrating all aspects of the tabletop wargaming hobby. For anyone who couldn't make it, we've put together a wrap-up of Osprey Games' highlights…
It was amazing to see so many of you come by the stand and check out the wide range of Osprey wargame books and North Star miniatures in our shop. We were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for the early copies of The Silver Bayonet's first supplement, The Carpathians: Castle Fier - sorry we sold out so fast, but you only have until next month to wait for the main release!
Not to mention two demo tables just opposite our stand - a game of Oathmark run by our friends over at North Star Military Figures, and a game of The Silver Bayonet run by the Osprey Games team. Both tables were buzzing throughout the day and it was so much fun to get people hands-on with these games whether they were veterans or newcomers. Thank you North Star for the awesome models and terrain!
We were so happy to have Joseph A. McCullough - the award-winning author of Frostgrave, Stargrave, Oathmark and The Silver Bayonet - there to hang out on the Osprey Games stand and sign some of his books. He took part in an incredible game design panel at the show as well - and there were also great talks from Daniel Mersey, creator of the Rampant system, and Chris McDowall, author of our upcoming apocalyptic monster-hunting wargame The Doomed.
And that's only one part of a busy and exciting show. There were so many games and minis on offer, so many tables to play at, and a sci-fi figure painting competition - huge congratulations to Mark Lifton for winning. If you want to see more of what was going on at the show, you can find live coverage from OnTableTop here and a video of our day here. That's all from us for this year's Salute, but we can't wait to do it all again in 2024 - and hopefully see even more of you there!
