I\'m now back from Historicon after an intensive four days of chatting on the stand, viewing games, presentations, Yueng-ling beer and more chatting.
Jo and I had a great time on the stand and we would like to thank all those people who dropped by the balcony to to see the latest releases or enter the daily competitions. Apparently the guys at On Military Matters, Brookhurst Hobbies and The Last Square all sold lots of Osprey books with British Napoleonic Infantry Tactics and The Samurai Invasion of Korea being particularly difficult to get hold of.
I\'d also like to thank those people who joined us for the presentation on Friday, it was great to get your feedback on the new titles and series we showcased. It was also great to hear
For more of the weekend there was a series of Field of Glory Tournaments being run in the main ballroom by a fantastic bunch of FoG enthusiasts led by Marc Crotteau under the NASAMW banner. They did a great job for the fun of it (and the occasional beer) and I wanted to say thank you very much. The winners and losers of the various tournaments were as follows:
25mm Theme
Angelo Cibelli won the 25mm Theme, with Ken Winland the gallant loser.
15 mm Theme
Matt Iverson won the 15mm Classical Theme and Ed Henson was unlucky with the dice this time.
15mm Open
Ethan Zorick won the 15mm Open and Danny Weitz took a glorious last place and a special award for his sportsmanship.
25mm Open
Sergei Sharenko won the 25mm Open with Ed Mack sliding into last.
Prizes will be on their way to all of them soon!
Full results can be found here.
We also had to judge the \'Osprey Award for the best use of a Campaign book\' in designing a game. Jo and I saw some excellent entries this year and are very sorry about the two we missed in the excitement of the show and the rabbit-warren that is the Lancaster Host. The eventual well-deserved winner was Blood & Sand: Gavutu-Tanambogo by Hayes Wauford and Robert Brown for which they used the Campaign title
See you all next year!
