The Military History Weekend is shaping up to be quite an event! While it is certainly quite different to be planning an event rather than "just" attending (not to suggest that attending or vending is ever as simple as that), it has been a lot of fun so far.
I just wanted to remind anyone interested in attending to make your hotel reservations now! The main events will all take place at the Williamsburg Hospitality House, where we have set aside a block of rooms at a 30%-discounted show rate. These are going fast, though, so please be sure to book early! Mention that you are there for the Military History Weekend to receive the discount. There are several other accommodations available just a walk or short drive away from the Hospitality House -- a full list is available here on the MHW website.
Furthermore, Col Ed Shames, a veteran of the 101st Airborne who landed at Normandy and went on to join the Band of Brothers, has confirmed his attendance at the event. He will be the keynote speaker.
Col Shames, who also penned the foreword to Osprey's bestselling Tonight We Die As Men, will be joined by several other Osprey authors. Confirmed so far: Rob Hodges, Steven Zaloga, Bob Forczyk, Mark Stille, David Bonk and Alejandro de Quesada.
