In 2004 a book appeared that was to turn the Elite series on it's head. When a book about World War II tactics landed on the agenda for one of our publishing meetings we were not quite sure what to make of it. Would it sell? Did it fit in the Elite series or should it go somewhere else. In the end the concept and the great team that had been lined up to work on the book (a combination of Stephen Bull, Brian Delf and Mike Chappell) convinced us that this was worth commissioning.
You obviously agreed with us. Since 2004 Elite 105 World War II Infantry Tactics: Squad and Platoon has been reprinted a whopping eight times and has sold tens of thousands of copies. The reaction by customers and book shops to the concept was so positive that it wasn't long before more tactics titles began to appear in the Elite series - there are 21 tactics books in existence now, with four more already commissioned for between 2010 and 2011.
Here is a full list of the Elite tactics titles - starting with the one that gave the concept it's initial big break!
