... Osprey's resident Christmas elf (and Marketing Assistant) Rebecca reveals her favourite Osprey book of 2012
Love, Tommy is my favourite Osprey book of 2012 as it is both moving and funny and the inclusion of photographs put faces to the words that have been written and sent home. You regularly learn the fate of the solider who has written the letter, which only enhances the connection that you feel with them and the conditions that they have had to live in.
Andrew Roberts has discovered some of the most heart breaking and beautiful letters, many of which are hard to read without crying. The inclusion of letters from the present day only makes the book feel more real, as you associate them with images you are familiar with and see in the media every day.
Love, Tommy is a book which appeals to all generations and deserves to be read – I highly recommend it.
Don't forget, you can win all the books featured this week in tomorrow's competition!
